Seven business models of digital disruption
Seven ways to create digital disruption within a business.
The experience users pay for a unique customer experience. Example: a visit to Disneyworld.
The subscription users pay a monthly subscription fee for access to a product or service. Example TV and Films.
The ‘free’, the user does not pay – gathering data is key in this model. Examples: Instagram and Google.
Access beats ownership Customers pay to use the product or service, but it does not become yours to own; you are only accessing it.
Ecosystem. The ecosystem model involves selling an interdependent suite of products or services that, when purchased, increase in value based on how many.
On-demand. Users pay for a service involving something that they do not have time to do for themselves, but that is fulfilled by people who have time and are short on.
Freemium. Users get either a ‘basic’ (free) version of a product or service or a ‘free’ trial. Examples: LinkedIn.
